Nissan To Bring Self-Parking EV Fruition

Nissan has something big in store for the Tokyo Motor Show this month, and it has to do with the emerging electric vehicle market. No, the Japanese automaker isn't planning to show off a redesign of the LEAF already. Rather, they'll be bringing an entirely new EV concept to the stage, known as the PIVO 3, and we here at KC Summers Nissan are incredibly excited to share what we know about it with you first!
The new Nissan electric can seat three, including the driver. The setup currently has the driver in the front with two passengers sitting behind them, and having the front seat in the center, allows both passengers to share a little extra legroom. Doing this also allows for the vehicle to have a much shorter body length, which increases its efficiency.
That's not the only aspect of the vehicle's designing that has piqued our interests, though. The exterior of the Nissan PIVO 3 is edgy, with a futuristic touch that makes it stand out from others in the minicar segment. It features rear-hinged doors, which make for a daring presence when entering and exiting the vehicle, and the concept's green paintjob tops it all off.
Then there are the safety and convenience features. The Nissan PIVO 3 takes advantage of the automaker's new Around View Monitor system, replacing the typical side mirrors with side-view monitors, which should help to greatly reduce the risk that blind spots impose.
The most dynamic feature of the Nissan PIVO 3, however, is its new Automated Valet Parking system. This new technology allows the vehicle to drive itself until it finds a parking spot to use. Once it does, the vehicle parks itself and turns off accordingly. It can even be set to find a charging station, recharge or sell off excess energy as needed, and return to its driver with one call from their smartphone, making it one of the most futuristic vehicles that we've ever heard of.
